Q & A with Brookelin
Q: What inspired you to teach this class at HarmonyLab?
A: I really like the vibe of HarmonyLab. After taking a class I felt like this place would be a great match for my work
Q: What can participants expect to feel during and after the workshop?
A: They will feel invigorated from the workout, energized from the release, joyful from the fun, stronger and more grounded in their bodies.
Q: How do dance, yoga, and energy healing complement each other in this experience?
A: This is a wholistic approach to working out. A lot of the time when there is stagnant energy in the body we can’t actually get all the benefits from the movement because we are holding onto stress or trauma in the body. The playfulness of dance can help release the strain we put on the body thus freeing our body to move and open to release and receive.
Q: What are your favorite benefits of incorporating light weights into this practice?
A: Weights are only added if the individual would like the extra resistance. I personally get board with weight lifting but I want to continue to strengthen my body. You will get a great workout with or without the weights but the moves are designed to make strength training fun.
Q: Why is movement under black lights such a powerful experience?
A: I think because it illuminates the unseen and give you a new perspective of the body. And it’s just fun
Q: How has your personal journey with dance and energy healing shaped your approach to teaching?
A: My personal journey of healing and navigating trauma trapped in my body deeply informed my approach to overall wellness and thus teaching. I discovered the profound power of energy release as I move unlocks the body's innate wisdom and resilience. I found that sometimes no matter how hard I worked out my body would not change until I released the stagnant energy. This led me to develop BEAM (Body Energy Ascension Movement), a unique method that combines movement, meditation, and energy healing to help you connect with your body, release emotional blockages, and cultivate a lasting sense of peace and well-being. I now incorporate this method into all my fitness classes such as Flow & Glow.
Q: What advice would you give to someone who is new to dance or yoga but curious about attending Flow & Glow?
A: You can not get it wrong. Your body with thank you. And there is a song lyric that goes “if it makes you nervous it’s probably worth it”. I live by this as a motto.
Q: What’s one thing you hope every participant takes away from this event?”
A: Joy in their hearts and a deeper connection to their body’s innate wisdom.
